Mindbridges® discussion forum technology was developed by a consulting group in the United Stated to serve the world-wide demands of threaded discussion groups.

The majority of online discussion groups were non-threaded where the user was unable to figure out the logic and order of the conversation. People complained "I can't figure out who is responding to each message."

The Mindbridges® team conducted thorough research into existing solutions and decided to create this forum technology from scratch. In order for the project to be successful, the team set certain goals.

First, the software had to be easy to use. A person not very literate with computers must be able to go into a forum, comfortably navigate, and reply to or post messages to the forum. After quite a bit of refinement and testing, Mindbridges® achieved that goal.

Second, and perhaps just as important, Mindbridges® had to be developed around a set of technologies that would allow unparalleled security and ease of administration. Forum administrators and owners converting to our software have constantly been remarking at the ease of understanding user patterns, visitor information, and overall security and control of the forum.

Another critical component was our choice of hardware, software, and hosting facilities. Mindbridges® runs on all Dell Poweredge equipment, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Active Pages, and is hosted in a world-class Tier-1 hosting facility. It was imperative for us to provide our customers with world-class performance by attaining an up-time of better than 99.9%.

The Mindbridges® servers are connected to the Internet with a Gigabit connection (1,000 Megabit per second). For those of you with DSL, that's approximately 333 times the speed of the fastest DSL connection. Our hosting facilities have backup UPS power, Diesel generators, redundant power feeds from multiple power grids, and multiple High speed 10 Gigabit OC-192 internet connections.
